Pastor Training Schools
One of the resounding problems in Uganda is the lack of education. Pastors are not exempt from this problem. Many people, including Pastor’s do not have a high school education. Many Pastor’s do not even own their own copy of the Bible. They will often repeat teachings heard on the radio. Part of the problem with this is that the radio teachings are based on visions and dreams not on the Word of God.
In 2008, we began a partnership with the Uganda Baptist Seminary. East African Outreach worked with the Seminary to create a Bible Training Curriculum which is available for Pastors and church leaders. East African Outreach will set up a Bible School in a sponsor church and leaders from within the district will come for one week a month for an entire year. There is no charge to them other than their transportation and contributions towards lunch for the class. When they complete the classes they will receive a certificate of Theology that is recognized by the Uganda Baptist Seminary. If they ever have a chance to further their education this certificate will go towards their schooling.
Thus far, East Africa Outreach has held over 100 Bible Training Schools with over 1000 graduates in Uganda, Congo and Kenya. We truly believe that with good theological training, we can shape the nation. If you feel led to contribute financially to this area of the ministry, it cost’s just over $400 a month to maintain the Bible Training Schools.
